DS106 Assignments and Daily Creates:
I thought that the daily creates and the DS106 assignments were an awesome opportunity to be creative, practice, and produce digital vignettes. Each of the pieces here represent my development as a digital story teller and highlight my experiments in crafting a message and determining how to tell it. But mostly I feel these are the most entertaining creations from the semester. Each image is linked to a post on my blog with further reflections on the creation process.
My Sandwich in a Movie - An opportunity to hone some photo-manipulation skills and to mash-up lunch and Star Wars.
Train to the Plane GIF - discovered how easy it is to add text to short video.
The Searchers - This daily create matched up perfectly with my focal theme because I was remixing the images from
an old comic to create a new digital story!
Big Helmet; Little Sheriff - Was my first attempt at photo-manipulation. The challenge was to juxtapose a large and little version of an object, but I
wanted more and so I digitally painted a Manning jersey on the sheriff!
Scruffy Looking Nerf Herder - I was so excited to make this mash-up of Buck Rogers' iImage and Han Solo's
quotation, because it helped me understand that photo mash-ups are digital stories that even novices can create.
One Morning Ritual to Rule them All! - My foray into Vine, I love how the steam blocks the shot as the coffee grounds bubble and churn.
Hello From Denver - This video put me out of my comfort zone, I think I look awkward but I had a message to send and this was the right way to do it.
Birth of Discow - This was my favorite DS106 assignment. I had drawn Discow for my very first Daily Create and was able to use creative commons images, in a GIF, to show how he was born!
