Mission:
I am not a creator of graphic novels nor am I a librarian, so what is the purpose of this digital graphic novel resource? The answer is simple - as a teacher I know engaging texts are important to fuel a love of reading. For many, graphic novels are just that - an engaging alternative to traditional literature. Graphic novels, however, can be intimidating to new readers because the industry is dominated by superhero titles. This makes it difficult for new readers to find titles that match their interests and because buying a variety of new graphic novels is expensive.
Through this project I will act as a digital librarian; making recommendations for graphic novels based on visitor interests and connecting those visitors to recommended titles in public libraries. I will accomplish this thought the @G_N_Librarian twitter account and my 4-Tweet Graphic Novel Reviews (which are archived on this site under Graphic Novel Recommendations), and with library tutorials/info-graphics (on the Library Information page).
